Description

The scene is Prime Minister, Helen Clark's office in which a group of Labour MPs is discussing with the Prime Minister ways in which they might curb National's upward swing in the polls leading up to the election in eight weeks' time. Minister of Finance, Michael Cullen suggests claiming that a vote for National is a vote for floods, famine etc. Minister for the Environment, Marion Hobbs wonders who could say such a thing with a straight face and Minister of Education, Trevor Mallard, leaps up shouting 'Me,me,me'. Prime Minister, Helen Clark, looking very po-faced, dryly thanks Trevor Mallard. Refers to Trevor Mallard's accusing the National Party of receiving funding from the United States, a claim that he was unable to substantiate and which brought some embarrassment to the government.

Other Titles - "But who could say such a thing with a straight face?" "Me! Me! Me!!" "Thanks Trevor!"
