An arrangement of text, with an engraving of a rooster and several small birds around a bush, at top left.
A complete prize list for the show can be seen in the Evening Star for 11 August 1890, page 4. Prizes were mixed and included: a spring wire mattress, a writing desk, a picture, Japanese trays, a box of soap, a tin of biscuits, a length of tweed, a walking stick, an overcoat, a riding whip, a bag of flour, cheese, half a ton of Kaitangata coal, and a clock.
Exhibited in ‘Humble: the life of 100 small objects’, exhibition curated by Barbara Lyon, in the Turnbull Gallery, National Library of New Zealand, 27 August - 17 November 2017.
