- Description
In the top frame President Obama castigates himself for not having done better in the mid-term election and promises to do better, and in the lower frame he is hauled towards a pyre by three seventeenth century Teaparty men. Refers to the swing against Obama with an expected shift from Democratic control in the House and Senate to a Republican majority. However people have pointed out the similarities between President Obama and President Clinton, who had a similar approval rating when the Republicans took control of the House in the 1994 midterm elections, but went on to win a second term by a large majority. The Teaparty reference is to the rise of the conservative Tea Party movement.
