Description

Map of South Island, south of Kaikoura and including Stewart Island, and not drawn to scale. Shows harbours, rivers, lakes, Maori tracks, boundaries of the New Zealand Company's land purchase of the Canterbury Region; includes descriptive notes on areas of land such as 'very extensive grass plains'. Note on map before copying: 'Kaiapoi is the southern boundary of the Nelson Block'. Includes many Maori placenames.
