The cartoon shows a scene at the Frankton market. Customers buy fancy breads and sausages at one stall while at another a man suggests that his scruffy items could be called 'We might be moving to Kent Street specials'. Refers to the news that Hamilton's Frankton Market could be moved because of friction between the market and retailer Forlongs and other businesses on Commerce St. Stall owners say that the effect of moving the Saturday morning market from Commerce St to Kent St would be severe because some businesses relied on the influx of about 2000 shoppers each week to survive. The suggested market changes would see Commerce St reopened to traffic on Saturday mornings and stalls moved to a closed section of Kent St. Forlongs director Terence Forlong has complained the market is leading to increased shoplifting in his store.
