Shows National Party leader, Don Brash, struggling to cross a stream to an island in the centre called "Middle ground" using a wooden plank. On the other side of the stream, Finance Minister, Michael Cullen, with Prime Minister, Helen Clark, on his back wades through the stream to "Middle ground" as well. Cartoon shows the leaders of the two main political parties battling against each other for the right to represent mainstream New Zealand.
