"Substitutes? Really? I thought the Italians were getting scored on their diving..." 22 June 2010
- Date
- 2010

- Description
The cartoon shows a man watching the game on television between the All Whites and Italy at the FIFA World Cup soccer in South Africa. At some stage in the game the Italians put on substitutes and the man is surprised because he thought the Italians were being scored on their diving. The Italians have a reputation for 'diving' which is pretending to fall headlong and then writhing in agony, thus dishonestly creating a penalty against the opposition or even getting them issued with a yellow card.
