- Description
Bobby calf vells hung up on a drying rack, at the Westfield Freezing Works in South Auckland. The hands and lower torso of a Works employee are also visible. Vells (the fourth stomachs of young calves) produce Rennin, which is used to manufacture cheese. Photograph taken circa 1950s, by Mr W Walker for the National Publicity Studios.
