Description

A skier, wearing skis and holding poles, surveys the view from a slope on the Ball Glacier. The National Publicity Studios' caption reads: `An accomplished skier pauses on the brink of a good ski-ing slope on the Ball Glacier to admire the majestic scenery around her. In front of her lies the Hochstetter and Tasman Glacier, with the Minarets Peaks and Mt Elie de Beaumont to the centre.' Photograph taken in September 1953 by K V Bigwood.
