Description

In the first of two frames (which are not thematically linked) Prime Minister, Helen Clark, is dressed as a nanny and she is pushing a pram labelled 'Referendum supporters' in which there is a yelling baby. The PM snarls at the baby and tells it that it is asking for a smack. Refers to the sense that New Zealand is somewhat of a 'nanny state' under Helen Clark and also refers to the desire for a referendum on the smacking issue. In the second frame the President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is shown against a background of soldiers bristling with arms. He glares at his audience and says that the people of Zimbabwe have the democratic right to vote for their leader provided it is him. Refers to the sham election held in Zimbabwe at the end of June 2008.
