Description

"Kairuru", home of Herbert and Mabel Henderson, under construction on the Takaka Hill. The home was situated six miles up the Takaka Hill. Carpenters are finishing the work on the front verandah. None of the people in the photograph are identified. Taken by an unidentified photographer in 1910.

The house was built by Herbert Henderson in 1910, and destroyed by fire in one hour in 1959.
