Description

Shows 2 small groups of Maori, one on either side of swift-flowing river. Two of group at left sit in front of whare and storehouse on pole controlling small burning, while one stands. At right more figures supervise burn-off, while one man fishes with spear. Flat bush-covered land recedes to Mount Taranaki in background. Tree-ferns at left and right.
