Text says that New Zealand and Australian relations are 'as close as they can get' (except when it comes to apples'. Refers to Australia's lifting the 80 year old ban on New Zealand apples, but not before the apples are put through a rigorous cleaning and screening process to stop the spread of the disease, fire blight into Australia. New Zealand farmers argue the quarantine rules are too onerous and restrictive to trade.
