Includes her diary of a family visit to London and Paris, Apr-Nov 1876. She also records part of the return journey to Wellington on the `Zealandia', 12 Sep-26 Oct 1877, ending with two weeks quarantine on Somes Island after a smallpox outbreak. From Apr-Dec 1879 Laura resumed her diary describing family and social life in Wellington
