Shows a scene at the bend of a river, where an empty waka with carving on its prow is floating. At the left, another waka is drawn up on the bank, and three figures are seated on or alongside it. On the bank above is a thatched whare.
There is a hill called Matanginui on the Ruahine Ranges. This scene is possibly in the Manawatu area.
