Cappuccino Dreams. "You all know how much I love the arts and how generously I fund them ... especially wanky ones where I can be photographed in the foyer. However, many perceive artists as an indolent lot and some economizing has been called for. Much of the rendering could be done by the unemployed ... or by visiting backpackers. Rest assured, the arts will survive - even if it's in a Kiwi D.I.Y. sort of way!" 27 April, 2005

Description

Shows the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Heritage, Helen Clark giving a speech about her support of the arts in New Zealand. "You all know how much I love the arts and how generously I fund them ... especially wanky ones where I can be photographed in the foyer. However, many perceive artists as an indolent lot and some economizing has been called for. Much of the rendering could be done by the unemployed ... or by visiting backpackers. Rest assured, the arts will survive - even if it's in a Kiwi D.I.Y. sort of way!". The first three frames of the cartoon strip shows a well drawn cartoon of Helen Clark, while the last three frames progressively show poorly drawn cartoons, with the last frame being simply a join the dots image of her.
