The cartoon shows an image of a pristine national park with machinery beginning to destroy an area with exploratory mining. Text says '100% pure greed' with the percentage sign a tiny map of New Zealand with a dot on either side. Refers to the decision by Energy and Resources Minister Gerry Brownlee to a stocktake of minerals in land currently protected under a section of the Crown Minerals Act. The value of untapped minerals in New Zealand has been estimated at some $140 billion, with nearly three-quarters of it within conservation land.
