- Description
Don Brash, Leader of the opposition National Party, sits Don Quixote-style, astride a small bewildered-looking donkey, dangling an unbaited fishing line in front of its nose. The donkey is labelled 'Voter'. Don Brash has a thought bubble issuing from his head which contains an image of a large juicy carrot with the words 'tax-cut' on it; he is trying to get the donkey to imagine that the juicy carrot, which is not visible to the donkey, is the bait on the fishing line. Refers to National's attempts to win voters with promises of tax-cuts in the remaining weeks in the run up to the election.
