The cartoon shows a kiwi whistling happily as he sits on a huge egg that represents 'farming' and counts his money. A very nasty stoat representing 'foreign ownership' has crept up behind him and is about to tap him on the shoulder. A newspaper nearby has a headline that reads 'Stoat blamed for kiwi slaughter'. Refers to an incident in which a stoat is believed to have been responsible for the slaughter of 11 kiwi at a "kiwi creche" near Cambridge. Refers also to Refers to the news that Hong Kong stock exchange-listed Natural Dairy (NZ) Holdings is set to buy up the Crafar dairy empire. Critics fear the sale of New Zealand assets.
