Description

Shows two men, one of whom represents Television and the other of whom is Gerry Brownlee, Spokesperson for Energy, sitting in a basket which is attached to a hot air balloon in the shape of an electric plug. The plug has the word 'crisis' printed on it and the basket has the word 'power' printed on it. The basket remains firmly on the ground as both men blow as hard as they can and the television man urges Gerry to blow 'more hot air'. Refers to anxiety about the possibilitiy of a power crisis over the winter because of lack of rainfall that means that the hydro lakes are not full enough to create the power required for the winter months. The cartoon suggests that the National Party is trying to inflate the severity of the problem to score points in the run up to the 2008 election.
