At one rostrum Prime Minister John Key vows that ownership of Te Urewera National Park will never be vested in the hands of Tuhoe and at the next rostrum Energy and Resources Minister Gerry Brownlee thinks to himself that they may need the park for mining purposes. Refers to the about-turn that John Key made over the ownership of the Urewera National Park which he had virtually promised to Tuhoe; refers also to the government's desire to undertake exploratory drilling for minerals in some Schedule 4 areas of New Zealand's most valued national parks.
