- Description
Shows two-storeyed building with pitched roof, a central entrance, and two wings. Front facade features Gothic arched windows. Some five sheep graze in the foreground in front of a wooden fence and some shrubs.
Probably a copy of the engraving published in Illustrated London news, vol. 45, p. 681 (1864).
Although this building was used for a time for Supreme Court sessions, it was originally built in 1857 as the Provincial Council buildings, and later became known as Parliament Buildings when central government was moved there. It was on the site of the present (1990s) General Assembly Library.
