Description

In four frames PM John Key is shown leaving for his secret trip to Afghanistan but everywhere he goes people seem to know about it and they wish him well. As he boards his plane he wonders how people know or whether it was just a lucky guess. The journalists and photographers with him agree with a nod and a wink at each other that it must just have been a lucky guess. Refers to the surprise 3 day visit to Afghanistan by PM John Key in early May where he met the elite Special Air Services troops, the Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the United States General in charge of running the war. Key thanked the SAS for their service in Kabul, where they have been operating with the Afghan National Army's Crisis Response Unit. The Prime Minister says that having deployed the SAS he felt obligated to visit them. The news people with John Key were hand-picked (embedded as it were).
