- Description
Three whare and a shelter inside a palisade with a carving in the background. A palisade in the foreground interpreted by the artist as a neat picket fence with gate and three Maori men, one standing, in Maori cloak, holding a rifle, the other two seated and reclining, draped in woven garments. Two "flax" plants are on the left, both very short and thick-leaved.
