Description

Sea on the left, beach (modern Lambton Quay, near Clay Point, the junction of Lambton Quay and Willis Street), the first Presbyterian Church built in Wellington in 1842, with flag flying, with two other buildings beyond. A group of Europeans and a dog are passing the church and a group of Maori are close to the viewer on the right. Hills behind the buildings. The whole scene and the people are clearly swept by a strong Wellington northerly.
