Description

A man is on his way to the pub and sees a notice outside a newsagent that reads 'School milk drinkers beat cancer' and further on a sign that reads 'Breast is best'. He decides he will surprise the barman by ordering a pint of milk but when he is faced by a bargirl with enormous breasts his courage fails him and he orders a packet of chips instead. Context - Adults who drank plenty of the free milk supplied at schools when they were young have a reduced risk of bowel cancer, a study has found. A free half-pint bottle of full cream milk - 284ml - was given daily to children at school between 1937 and 1967. (NZ Herald 17 January 2011)
