Description

Shows on the left Pita Sharples and Tariana Turia, co-leaders of the Maori Party who have a basket of fresh food labelled 'Maori support'. Sitting at the table with their forks ready are Prime Minister, Helen Clark, and Finance Minister, Michael Cullen. In front of them is a large basket (kete) of food, topped by a half-consumed stinking fish labelled 'Repeal of Foreshore & Seabed law'. In the background is a shovel and a pile of freshly dug earth which also smells. Tariana Turia and Pita Sharples tell the others that they have to finish their first course before they get the second. Refers to Tariana Turia's private member's bill to repeal the Foreshore and Seabed Act and the Maori Party using this as a lever as parties jockey for coalition partners or small party support in the run up to the 2008 election.
