Description

Aorangi Ski Club members packaging ash from the eruption of Mount Ruapehu into Christmas Cards. Clubs in Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland were hoping the revenue from the cards would assist them to recoup the losses of a poor season. The cards depict The Chateau, an erupting Mount Ruapehu behind, and the text "Rumblings from down under". From left: Nicholas Kay, Matthew Ellis, and Sarah Lester.
