Description

Shows Labour and National Party leaders Helen Clark and Don Brash navigating their way through dense jungle that is set with traps in the form of male and female symbols with holes ripped in them. A sign nailed to a tree points to the 'elections'.

Cartoon depicts the two party leaders taking great risks by showing their stance on social issues relating to sexuality. While Helen Clark supported the Civil Union Bill, National Party leader, Don Brash, wavered from his initial support to recommending a referendum as his liberal stance weakened with pressure from lobby groups.
