Contains material collected by George Martin consisting of a list of pa on the Whanganui River, undated and in an unknown hand and an account by T W Downes of the river, entitled `The Great River Te Awa-Nui-A-Rua - an easter holiday', which was written [ca 1938] and details a trip down the river by Downes and several others in 1888, noting people the party met and places they visited.
