A 'GOOD EVANS' cartoon. Shows Finance Minister, Michael Cullen, smiling broadly as he holds up the 2008 budget and pronounces 'Nine budgets', this being his ninth budget. A cynical cat in the corner pipes up commenting 'Nine lives'. Reference to to the fact that this is Labour's ninth year and third government and the 2008 election is coming up with Labour trailing rather badly in the polls. Labour hopes that the budget will help the polls.
