Description

Shows a large cat representing 'dairy subsidies' that is wearing an American Uncle Sam hat with stars and stripes. The cat is apparently snoozing. Beside the cat is a pile of excrement that represents free trade. A little New Zealand mouse sniffs at it curiously, unaware that the cat has one eye open. Refers to the announcement by the United States that it will start trade negotiations with Brunei, Chile, New Zealand and Singapore --all members of what is known as the P4 trade agreement. The dairy industry is likely to emerge as the big winner because the deal could break down strict tariff barriers for dairy products entering the US from New Zealand.
