Description

Boxes of three sizes, all for containing screws. GKN stands for Guest Keen & Nettlefold, a branch of an Australian firm, opened in Seaview ca 1942, and closed 1997. Smallest box contained one gross (144) 3/4 woodscrews, with c'sunk slotted heads. Middle size contained 200 woodscrews. The largest box has lost the label giving its contents. The design in blue is the same on all boxes, except for size.

The donor's grandfather, Mr Leslie Donaldson, opened the Seaview branch of Ajax GKN, in about 1942, and was the Managing director, ca 1947-67.
