Time's up. Crook coup. 11 April 2009
- Date
- 2009
- Reference
- DCDL-0010902
- Description
Shows the head of Fiji's interim Prime Minister, Bainimarama, as a cuckoo, bouncing out of a cuckoo clock on a spring. The cuckoo says 'crook coup' several times. Refers to Bainimarama's taking military control of the Fijian government. He is being required by the Pacific Island Forum to hold democratic elections in 2009 which he has refused to do, hence the words 'time's up'. There is a play on the words 'cuckoo' and 'crook coup'.
