- Description
Shows two young Maori women outside a carved meeting house, one seated and weaving a kete (basket), the other carrying a bundle of flax on her shoulders and a kete of kumaras in her right hand. A greenstone patu lies on the ground in front of the seated woman. Two eels and a flatfish are hanging up to dry from the barge-board of the meeting house. Both women are wearing fine flax cloaks and European style skirts and both are wearing greenstone tiki around their necks.
