Shows a tree plantation in the Central Otago Region taken ca 1912
This farming locality on the Bald Hill Flat, Central Otago District was originally the gold mining settlement of Bald Hill Flat, then from about 1915 fruit trees were planted. This venture was unsuccessful and the land was given over to sheep farming but the descriptive name for the area remained.
