Description

US President George Bush is drowning in a pool of water. On the left hand side of the pool President Bashar al-Assad of Syria reaches out with a walking stick to try to help President Bush and on the right side of the pool President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran stretches out a helping hand. President Bush rejects both offers of assistance and prefers to drown. Refers to the growing degree of unpopularity for Bush's Iraq stance from the American public.

The White House is under growing pressure to talk to Iran and Syria to help stabilize Iraq, but mounting violence in Iraq and the Bush administration's political woes give the negotiating edge to Tehran and Damascus and complicate any U.S. outreach, experts say.
