- Description
Shows a Chinese man gritting his teeth and closing his eyes. Above him is a New Zealand oar and from off comes a voice saying 'Fix it oar else!'. Printed up the side of the cartoon are the words 'an 'oarkward situation'. Chinese officials cancelled the accommodation that the New Zealand rowing team had booked for themselves ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games because its location meant the rowers could avoid a lengthy daily commute between the Olympic village and the venue. There is a play with the word 'oar' and 'or' and 'awkward'.
