Description

In four frames the cartoon shows Prime Minister, Helen Clark making a speech in which she forcefully describes the qualities of the true leadership that she sees herself as providing for New Zealand. When someone from the crowd asks her whether she is going to Waitangi today she walks away saying that she wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Refers to Helen Clark's decision not to attend Waitangi Day celebrations at Waitangi in 2008 because of the embarrassments she has had to face in past years. Waitangi has tended to be a forum for anti-government protest by Maori.
