"Are we half in or half out?" 11 August 2009
- Date
- 2009
- Reference
- DCDL-0011986
- Description
Shows two kiwis looking at a glass of fizz in which are two straws, one representing 'NZ Afghanistan' and the other 'NZ Climate change'. One of the kiwis wonders if the straws are 'half in or half out'. Refers to the rather ambivalent stance being taken by the government in Afghanistan with a decision pending on whether the SAS troops should be sent to help try to get rid of the Taleban. Also suggests ambivalence in the government's stance on climate change which critics think needs a much more determined effort in the attempt to manage the problem of global warming.
