- Description
Shows on one side a pair of pin-striped arms holding out a huge begging bowl representing 'financial institutions' to Uncle Sam and demanding that it be filled up while on the other side a pair of scrawny arms holds up a tiny bowl representing 'welfare'. Uncle Sam stares into the huge bowl in a bewildered fashion. Text above says 'the nanny state'. Refers to the US $700 billion bail-out proposed by the government to rescue failed banks and finance houses in the September Wall Street crash.
