Description

The scene is a beach somewhere in New Zealand. Offshore is a gas rig from which rises a speech bubble with someone suggesting drilling on the foreshore because it is rich in methane. On the beach is a group of protesters both Maori and Pakeha with banners saying 'Pakeha rights', 'Maori land', 'Go home' etc. Refers to the Foreshore and Seabed Bill whose objectives are to recognise the interests of Maori while maintaining public ownership and access. The Foreshore and Seabed Act was passed in 2004.
