Description

The leader of the New Zealand National Party, Adam Hamilton, as a bemused blacksmith surrounded by broken machinery of 'unemployment', 'abandoned public works', 'slashed pensions', 'means test', 'starvation, stagnation, misery', 'wage cuts', and 'I. C. & A. Amendments' outside the 'New National (Coalition crossed out) Forge' or 'Legacy of the Forbes-Coates regime'.

Extended Title - The determination to weld all groups representing the more responsible vote in town and country into one party was expressed at a meeting of the Doiminion Council of the New Zealand National Party by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. A. Hamilton, who said the main principle for which the Party stood was to hold fast to whatever was good in the past.
