A parliamentary secretary asks Jim Anderton, Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the Alliance, and Helen Clark, the Prime Minister, to which of Phillida Bunkle's addresses she should send their decision on whether or not she was entitled to government-supplied accomodation in Wellington. Bunkle claimed to be a Wellington resident when soliciting votes, but claimed her main residence was outside Wellington once elected. She had her own house in Wellington, another in Waikanae and another in Nelson while occupying an official apartment in Oriental Bay.
