- Description
Shows Minister of Justice, Annette King, slamming a door labelled 'Electoral Finance Act' shut on skeletons and snakes of all kinds, many of which continue to squirm through the crack in the door. She breathes a sigh of relief that it's all sorted. In the background Prime Minister, Helen Clark, stands holding her handbag and encouraging Annette King to come shopping. Refers to the passing of the Electoral Finance Act which is an attempt by the government to control on the financing of election campaigns to protect the integrity of the ballot from the inequality of the wallet. This Act caused much controversy because it was misunderstood by many and perceived as limiting freedom of speech.
