Shows Captain Cook and his officers aboard the Resolution meeting the Tahitian chief O-Tai, his wife and sisters in 1773. A large Union Jack flies behind the central mast. The image includes a decorative border
Cook visited Tahiti in 1773 and 1774 during his second voyage. This meeting occurred on his first visit.
