A botanical print showing a flax bush (phormium tenax), with details along the top showing its flower, seed pod and a cross-section of the seed-pod. The plant is seen in a setting with banana palms and a leopard.
This engraving is possibly from Dictionnaire Pittoresque d'Histoire Naturelle Paris: 1836-1839, edited by Felix Edouard Guerin-Meneville (1799-1874).
