There are two small cartoons. [1] Shows Prime Minister Helen Clark wearing a hard hat and declaring that they 'can ride this one out'. Above her a huge block of stone with the words 'Economic recession' carved in it plummets towards her. Refers to Helen Clark's warning Labour MPs that it was time to put on their hards hats because there were going to be rough times in parliament in the run up to the 2008 election. In fact the hard hat is also required to weather the economic recession. [2] Shows television presenter Tony Veitch looking wide-eyed and startled during a press conference when he tries to explain a violent incident in which he badly hurt his former partner. Behind him are several policemen, one of whom is writing down what Tony Veitch was saying.
