An enormous statue in similar style to the Statue of Liberty, stands in Sydney harbour. It depicts an Aussie bloke wearing shorts and a battered hat and holding aloft a can of beer. From a passing tourist boat someone makes the observation that it has been created to welcome poor and huddled Kiwis escaping the harsh economic regime in New Zealand. Reflects a current view, that the National Party is promoting, that New Zealanders are increasingly going to Australia because it is economically more rewarding.
