Photographs, mostly showing the West Coast of the South Island, with some showing parts of Southland, taken by the New Zealand Tourist and Publicity Department circa 1900s.
Most are landscapes, but some show people in the distance, including horse-drawn coaches in the Buller Gorge and Bealey Gorge; Archer's punt on the Inagahua River; two men standing outside the Malte Brun Hut; climbers on the various glaciers; and people in rowing boats on Lake Kaniere.
